THREDUP SITE REDESIGN
Overview
Enhancing the thredup closet experience
thredUP asked me to redesign a section of their site, called the Closet. Working within the brand, I explored new creative solutions to make the Closet an interesting and inviting destination. My redesign pushes the brand further and creates a more personalized, customizable, and visual experience for customers.

The Challenge
There is an area on the site called the thredUP Closet. Currently, this is a place for users to view what they've purchased and new recommended pieces. The thredUP recommendations are similar items or things that users could potentially pair with the item they purchased. I was asked to reimagine how thredUP could make the experience of visiting your Closet more interesting and compelling.

Solution
Create a more personalized, customizable, and visual Closet experience for the customer. This feature will resemble actually assembling outfits from a closet so that customers can be inspired and have a better idea of what will go with what they already own. This will increase content discovery, amount of time spent on the site and shopping cart conversions, as well as reduce number of returns.

Looking Ahead
Thinking ahead, there are more enhanced features that could further drive customer engagement. For instance, an inventory section could be implemented — where customers would put new items they want to buy, to pair together in outfits with other pieces. So the closet wouldn’t just be based on past purchases, but also on future ones. Additionally, to increase urgency, thredUP could alert customers to how many other people are looking at items they have in their closet. This would drive users to purchase items faster.
